Although tattoos were once frowned upon, they are now more accepted. A report done in 2010 showed that 20 percent of adults who are between the ages of 18 and 29 have at least six tattoos. However, there are some employers who still will not accept tattoos. Every place of employment has a dress code and policies regarding tattoos.
The United States army is one of the places that has one of the strictest policies regarding tattoos. They will not accept people with certain tattoos such as gang symbols and hate speech. Tattoos that are on the feet, hands and neck are also forbidden. Additionally, sleeve tattoos are also prohibited in the United States army. All of your tattoos must be covered while you are wearing your uniform.
There are many employers who have policies that are similar to the United States army. All places of employment will ban people with tattoos that depict hate speech and gang symbols. In some cases, people who are great at their job will not have a problem keeping it even if they have tattoos. Employers are concerned about the way customers and clients will react to the tattoos.
